Robotic Final Inspection
Problem:
How to do a final inspection on a very large and heavy part. The part can be a different part number with different options each time. They are not run in batches but rather on an individual basis.
Solution:
Have a camera and lighting system mounted on the end of a large robot. Scan the unit as it comes into the vision station to determine its part number. Look up the part number in the database to determine the parts and options for this specific unit. Use the robot to move the camera to all locations that need to be inspected. Store all images with the units serial number for future reference.
