Problem:
Mismatched and missing parts found after the torque converter was welded shut, shipped, and installed.
Solution:
Create a vision system that would identify both the pump and stator by the number and angle of their fins. Then check the database to see if this combination formed the proper torque converter. It also needed to verify the presence and location of a bearing.
